Community Photos Welcome to Tomahawk Mountain, located on the Dawson/Pickens County line, a few miles north of Big Canoe, within a few miles of Amicalola Falls - of which the entire community has incredible views! Tomahawk Mountain Subdivision is definitely one of North Georgia's best kept secrets. It's an old community, first developed in the early 1960's. It has 50 small lots, split between about 2 dozen landowners, and range in size between 1/4 acre to 1 acre. The community has less than 2 dozen homes, only about 7 of which are lived in full time. The community houses a mixture of Quaint cabins, A-Frames, Newer construction retirement homes, and Mountain Rental properties. Many owners have several lots just to keep the natural feel of the place. The community has a communal Well & Spring which feed into a communal pump house that pipes water to the neighborhood. Annual dues are currently at $250 for homeowners, although the option to opt out and dig your own well is available. This long, narrow, level ridge offers incredible views from both sides. Walks along the ridge are a popular pastime of owners, and you literally can't walk/drive 50 feet without being exposed to spectacular views. From the east side of the ridge, every property has incredible long range, unobstructed views stretching as far as the sunrise horizon. From the west side of the ridge, every property has incredible 5-6 mile views of the interior valleys and mountains of the Mount Oglethorpe / Sassafras Mountain ranges. To the south along the road is a view of the southern BIG CANOE mountains. Because the ridge is so narrow, most properties have at least some views across the road as well. The entire community is surrounded by State Owned Wildlife Management Land, or private conservation trust land, and there are several long hiking trails extending out from many points of the road. At the above links you will find detailed community photos and individual For Sale property photos and details, plats, maps, directions and hiking trail overviews. We hope you will come visit the community. Please review the Links and Property sections above. And Welcome To The Community! For additional community information please contact -
