NEIGHBORHOOD CRITTERS!

Black Bears - they show up for 2 months every summer during the fruit tree & berry season.  This is a young male.  Last year we had a small orphan cub around for several months, and every year there is at least one "Momma Bear" with cubs.. And no - they aren't anything to be scared of - as long as you don't go piling trash or food by the cabin.  You Don't Feed The Bears and the bears won't bother you!!!!

The bottom 2 photos show a large "Herd?" of Turkey that takes up occasional residence on the side & neighboring lots.  One day I counted 32 ENORMOUS turkey!

We put out Hummingbird feeders each spring, and literally have dozens of Hummers stay with us until the Fall.  I've counted as many as 6 Hummers feeding at the same time off of one feeder right outside the living room window.  The list of other mountain critters goes on and on.  I am especially fond of the Bluebirds however!
